You tapped a QR code at a venue that uses Candour. Here is what happens to your details.
The venue decides what to send you and is responsible for your name, email, birthday and visits. Candour (Sullivan Applications Ltd) runs the service for it. Candour itself is responsible for usage counts, the proof that you agreed to emails, and the list of people who asked not to hear from any venue.
Feedback goes to the venue and is anonymous unless you add your details. Google's language service checks whether it reads as positive, which decides whether you see a Google review link.
If you join a loyalty card, get the Wi-Fi or ask for a reply, the venue keeps your email and first name on its customer list, with a visit count.
The venue emails you offers only if you ticked the box and confirmed. We keep a scrambled copy of your IP address as proof.
The App Clip sends an identifier Apple gives our app on your phone, so your card is recognised without signing in. We keep your language so emails arrive in it.
Your consent for offer emails. Providing what you asked for, such as a loyalty card or Wi-Fi. Legitimate interests for the feedback check, visit counts, proof of consent and the do-not-email list.
Until you delete your details, the venue removes you, or it closes. After 24 inactive months, your details are anonymised. Unconfirmed agreements to emails are deleted after 14 days. After deletion, a record of when you agreed and withdrew, without email or IP address, stays 30 days. If you stop offers from every venue, a scrambled copy of your email is kept for good so you are never emailed again.
You can see, correct, delete or move your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. Ask the venue or email contact@candour.app. We reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Google, Apple, Resend and Anthropic (whose AI helps venues read feedback) help run the service, some outside the UK. We never sell your data or show you ads.
